Vibration and Dampers
We are engaged in the field of vibration technique by investigating mechanical-induced and flow-induced vibrations, vibration measurements and aeroelastic phenomena in the wind tunnel. Furthermore we calculate and design vibration absorbers.

Vibration Measurements
Our investigations are related to flow-induced vibrations at chimneys, bridges, high rise buildings and rides as well as mechanically excited vibrations by machines and by person. By full-scale measurements on site we analyze the natural frequencies and the damping.
Aeroelastic Investigations in the Wind Tunnel
We investigate in our boundary layer wind tunnel with aeroelastic model technique vortex-induced vibrations, galloping and flutter phenomena. Measures for avoiding or reducing the vibration are designed and tested.
Calculation and Design of Dynamic Vibration Absorbers
Large vibration amplitudes may occur at low damped systems like steel stacks, antenna masts, bridges etc. A solution can be to install dynamic vibration absorbers.
Model Tests for Optimization of Dynamic Vibration Absorbers
The natural frequencies of chimneys, bridges and towers can be simulated in our vibration test stand. By this technique the vibration absorber can be tuned exactly to the full-scale structure.
