About Us
The business philosophy of Ruscheweyh Consult GmbH bases on the know-how and the experience of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Ruscheweyh who lectured and researched at the RWTH Aachen for more than 25 years in the fields of building aerodynamics, flow induced vibration and industrial aerodynamics. Starting as a “one-man-show” in 1996 a capable team of eight technicians and engineers grew up quickly including a very experienced and skilled model builder. A self-built Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel has been applied on numerous national and international construction projects, e.g. for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt (M), Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Hilton Hotel Baku, Saphire Tower Istanbul, a sports hotel in Dubai as well as 200 m high natural draught cooling towers in China.
The very first model, a hybrid cooling tower with mixer plates (1979)
Extraordinarily successful is the “induced vortex mixer plate” a patented invention for mixing fluid flows. In 1979 a customer’s request arouse the idea of how to intensely mix two fluid flows over a very short distance at low-loss. The solution was a mixer disk. This mixing system, initially developed for a hybrid cooling tower, subsequently had been successfully utilized many times on varying industrial applications, for example in flue gas cleaning processes. Evolving this technology by further optimizations it had been brought to perfection in front of catalytic denitrification (SCR) in power generating plants, forming one of the company’s important mainstays.
